Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some answers to some of the questions we’ve been receiving.  Please have a look through these before sending us your question. If we haven’t already answered it, please use our contact form to reach us or email us at ruffmudderrace@rogers.com.  Looking forward to event day!

Does my dog have to be on leash?

YES. All dogs will be required to be on a 4-6 foot leash at all times while on event grounds.

Can I bring my dog on a FLEXI lead?

No, sorry absolutely no flexi leashes of any sorts allowed on event grounds

I'm not in the best of shape, can I still participate?

Absolutely! This is a FUN event for people of all fitness levels.

Can I participate as part of a team?

For sure! We are planning a "Best Team Costume" prize! Make sure you all register for the same heat time and we will be posting more details about team contests closer to the event date!

What if my partner and I want to participate together with our dog?

That's awesome! We have a special rate for 2-5 people and one dog registrating together.

Can my entire family take part?

We welcome families to take part in this family fun day! Just select the 2-5 people with one dog option when registering.

What is the cost to register and what is included with my registration?

Please see the registration page for details.

I don't want to take part in the race, can I still come?

Absolutely! There is no charge to come to the event if you are not racing. We have a number of vendors and other activities for you to enjoy.

How physically demanding will this course be?

We are out to ensure this is a fun event for people of all fitness levels. The terrain does involve many small inclines to climb up and down as well as logs etc to nagivate over and under, so we do recommend people with heart issues or other health issues check with their doctor before registrating. In addition to offering the shorter 3km route, there will be ways around most obstacles should you decide they are too difficult for you or your pup.

June 25 might be pretty hot out, what will be available to keep the dogs and us cool and dehydrated?

The course itself will take teams through a creek numerous times - so no worries about needing to find somewhere to cool down in! We will also have a number of water drinking stations for both dogs and humans throughout the course.

How old does my dog have to be?

We have set a minimum age limit of 1 yr old - or there abouts. Younger pups are still growing and developing both physically and mentally and we feel participating in the race itself may not be the best setting for these younger pups. We do however encourage owners to bring any pup over 12wks of age to the event grounds for some great socialization opportunities!

I'm interested in coming as a vendor, can you provide more information?
